Guest Teaching at Montclair State University

I am in the process of developing a technique class that, from beginning to end, includes partnership in one form or another. In an effort to increase interpersonal relationship among students, and for a generation (of which I am a part) whose primary method of communication is centered around technology, I believe touch is a critical aspect of learning, growth, and embodied and intellectual progress. Partnered Contemporary Technique© is a contemporary modern class that synthesizes principles of Contact Improvisation, post-modern dance, and form-based practices into being.

At Montclair State University, colleague Stevie Oakes and I co-taught Partnered Contemporary Technique© and presented a work-in-progress by Alexandra Beller. It was a delight to teach such a dedicated group of students, and engage in post-performance conversations with them on choreographic process.
Assistant Professor, Dance at The College at Brockport, SUNY

In September 2015, I accepted a position to join the dance faculty at The College at Brockport, SUNY. I teach contemporary modern, choreography, improvisation, ballet and repertory, as well as history courses, for dance majors and minors. What an incredible department with a prestigious faculty and a rich dance history. (photo credit: Joyce Edwards)
