As a choreographer, I make work that dwells in the paradoxes of existence: the inevitability of coexisting truths, the multifarious meanings, politics, and stories of the body, and the poetics that reside therein. These concerns emerge as choreographic logics through movement, space, image, and duration, each holding contradiction without requiring resolution. I return to the paradigm of confines, where built, organic, and imagined structures become platforms through which my work exceeds spatial and conceptual limits into positions of possibility. I prefer choreographing for spaces outside the traditional theater. My work takes the form of happenings and set choreography in public spaces, galleries, pastures, scaling stairwells, or within window frames, as readily as it inhabits large proscenium theaters and intimate black boxes. Regardless of location, I create environments as if building a "nest"—a home the work can nuzzle into, or a mechanism through which walls begin to break down. At the crux of ambiguity and recognizable narrative, my work invites viewers to think, assemble fragments, and build their own relationship to stories that unfold, contradict, and disintegrate.
